NEWS – JANUARY 2012.

Dear Members and Friends,

Bonne Année à tous – bonne santé pour 2012
Happy New Year to you all – good health for 2012.

We are welcoming a group of our friends from Mardié this summer.  They arrive on Thursday 26th July and leave on Tuesday 31st. This will give us 4 full days with them – time to get to know our new visitors and renew previous friendships.

As usual we are trying to encourage younger members to visit – and this time we will have some families with younger children – new blood for our Twinning!

Until such time as we know the age groups of our visitors it is difficult to know what sort of visits/entertainment to arrange for them.

There are Highland Games at St. Andrews on Sunday 29th so this would suit all ages.
A visit to Edinburgh, which would include a visit to the newly opened Museum of Scotland has been suggested.

Weather will also play a part in our plans!

As we will be accommodating in the region of 40 people, as usual we are looking for ‘homes’ for them. For those of you who have not hosted before this requires Bed and Breakfast each day with perhaps 1 to 2 evening meals (we usually try to get together with friends for this – easier for us and the French).

We would stress it is not essential you speak French – it helps if you have a smattering , but it is amazing what you can say with your hands!

If you would like to host a family / couple or single person please let me know.

If you are unable to host and would like to help in another way, or join us on our visits (practice your French), please also let me know.

We always have good fun and an interesting time with our French friends.

We hope to hear from you soon and hope you will join us in July as a host or a helper.
